A quick introduction

For all you newcomers who don't yet know me, I'm Sterling. Along with Ryan, I have been herping since as long as I can remember. I grew up next to a large field, and constantly had snakes in the house. It was either choose to be afraid, or embrace these interesting creatures. As I grow older and find myself more involved with conservation and research, I realize that its a path that I want to follow in my ever so near future.

Eastern Foxsnake - Pantherophis gloydi
As well as being an avid outdoors man, I also very much enjoy taking photos. Its a way for me to document the beauty I see whenever I leave the house, and I get to show the rest of the world some of the more elusive reptile and amphibian species that I come across. As of right now I am in school trying to further me environmental expertise in hopes that one day I can make a great impact on our world and the conservation of all living things.

For your viewing pleasure, I will share some of the amazing species I have came across this year on my travels around Ontario.

Eastern Hognose Snake - Heterodon Platirhinos

Gray Treefrog - Hyla versicolor

Northern Map Turtle - Graptemys geographica
(Melanistic) Eastern Gartersnake - Thamnophis sirtalis
